Chinese smartphone giant Huawei said in a report that its revenue went up by 40% in the first half of 2016. Huawei said that it managed to get 245.5 billion yuan in revenues this year, way higher than the 175.6 billion yuan for the same period last year. Figures for their net profit were not released, however their operating margin is known to be at 12 percent which is less than its 18 percent in the first half last year.

The Chinese company is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, just behind South Korean giant Samsung and famous American smartphone maker Apple.

Last Friday, Samsung sued Huawei claiming it was defending its intellectual rights against an alleged patent violation by the latter. The lawsuit was part of a series of ongoing disputes between the two Asian smartphone giants over intellectual property. Back in May, Huawei also sued Samsung over alleged patent violations.
