Auto-Rickshaw Service Withdrawal by Uber Raises Doubts

Uber has quietly withdrawn its auto-rickshaw service in Delhi, India. This move has led to doubts regarding the viability of their business model considering that similar companies, such as AutoWale and MGaadi, have also failed to scale up or raise big money. In India, auto-rickshaws are public transport vehicles of the three-wheeled variety.

The company has been reached for comments, to which they replied: “We are temporarily removing this product to solve specific problems that need to be resolved to help it scale.” However, the company declined to name the specific problems. The three-wheeled product was released on Uber’s app just seven months ago
