As part of its plan to reduce fuel costs, low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has tapped the services of French software solutions provider OpenAirlines to monitor its fuel consumption patterns. Cebu Pacific president and CEO Lance Gokongwei said that Open Airlines’ SkyBreathe® Fuel Efficiency will enable the airline to save time and achieve the best fuel economy.

The software solution will use big data algorithm to monitor consumption patterns of Cebu Pacific’s 57 aircraft. Data collected will then be analyzed by the French consulting firm’s fuel experts to assist Cebu Pacific in implementing best practices for fuel-efficient flights.

Gokongwei hopes that the new fuel program will help the airline maintain low fares for all its passengers.
