Facebook has officially opened its Manila office. The tech giant aims to connect its 49 million plus Filipino users, not only with friends and family, but also with businesses. According to Facebook’s Asia-Pacific VP Dan Neary, “one of the objectives of why we set up the office here is to better serve…businesses.”
Neary noted that Southeast Asia is among the fastest growing regions for the company. Concerning that growth, the Philippines is said to be playing a large role. According to internal data as of December 2015, more than 49 million Filipinos use the social media site per month. Facebook also announced Digs Dimagiba’s appointment as head of Facebook Philippines.
