Moovit Expands Features for Blind Users

Moovit’s latest upgrade includes features that enables blind people to take transit using TalkBack and VoiceOver integration, making things a lot easier for them. The upgrade was inspired by one of the developers, Adi Kushnir, who is blind. He noted in a press release that planning a trip ahead of time is crucial for those who are visually-impaired.

It took the developers six months to work on the integration, and there’s still more to be done. Moovit CMO Alex Mackenzie implied in an email interview that the work has only just begun and user feedback will be useful in creating future versions that are even easier to use. The app launched globally in 2013. SInce then, it covers transit in 800 cities with more than 35 million users.
