SpaceX’s twitter just sent out a tweet about sending “Dragon to Mars as soon as 2018.” Details of these plans have been sparse thus far, limited to a few replies to other twitter users who are intrigued by them. Elon Musk’s tweets seem to hint that the missions to Mars will be uncrewed.
More details are likely to be revealed at a later date. It is also theorized that numerous test runs and supply missions are going to take place. Such missions will be necessary in order to ensure that whatever risks involved will be minimized as much as possible.
