Insurance Company Promotes the Need to Sleep More

Sleep deprivation is a serious concern, made even worse by the fact that up to 40% of Americans are getting less than the recommended amount of sleep. However, it should be noted that more people are starting to realize the importance of a good night’s sleep. Aetna, a Hartford-based health insurance company, is leading the cause against the lack of sleep.

Aetna has begun sponsoring a new series called “Healthy Sleep Matters: A New Look at the Importance of Sleep.” It has articles, videos, quizzes, and infographics for the purpose of raising awareness among employees. The company’s sleep expert, Dr. Ed Pezalla, has said that the idea came about during a brainstorm session when the executives realized how much of an issue sleep is amongst all demographics.
