TechCrunch Disrupt is an event that debuts leading startups. They gather the best entrepreneurs, investors, hackers and tech fans for many activities including the Startup Battlefield competition.
This year, 15 companies from all over the world vied for the £30,000 cash prize and the Disrupt Cup trophy. After a lengthy deliberation, the list narrowed down to four companies: Yoobic, product marketing monitoring service for retail stores; MAX, a last-mile delivery service for urban Africa; Lystable, freelancer managing platform; and, Jukedeck, artificial intelligence music composing app.Jukedeck was announced as the winner for the TechCrunch Disrupt London 2015, Startup Battlefield competition. Jukedeck’s platform allows users without any musical skills to create “custom, cheap, royalty-free” soundtracks for videos or podcasts. They can simply pick a mood, style, tempo and length for the track and Jukedeck will generate the composition. The first five songs per month will come for free. After this, users will have to pay $7 per soundtrack, and larger businesses will have to pay $15 a track. Users can also charge $150 for their copyrighted songs. Startup Battlefield at Disrupt New York will also open soon.
