On Wednesday, Airbus has revealed that it has won a deal worth $1.85 billion with Philippine Airlines. The deal entailed a purchase of Airbus’ A350-900s, with Philippine Airlines buying at least six. Also known as PAL, Philippine Airlines is the flag-carrier of one of Asia’s fastest growing economies.
The deal between the two also includes the option for PAL to purchase six more aircrafts. The airline plays a major transportation link for millions of Filipinos to work abroad, which makes the deal all the more significant. The deal between the two companies was announced at the Singapore Airshow and the delivery of the aircraft is expected to begin by 2018.
