Facebook announced a new feature that allows user to record a 15 second video that can be shared on your friend’s timeline. It comes with different birthday-themed frames to dress up the video message. The 15-second “Birthday Video Cam” is meant to encourage Facebook users to interact through videos rather than texts.
This new feature is now available for users in iOS devices. To make a video, you need to visit your friend’s profile page, via iOS app and then choose the banner video prompt, where you would usually create a birthday message. From there, you can opt for recording a video and sharing it on that person’s wall.
The birthday video feature features is part of Facebook’s effort to make the networking site more personalized through videos. Facebook is also testing a feature called “profile videos” that lets users upload a seven-second video clip instead of a static picture.
