Halo is Building a Wearable to Help Athletes Improve

Halo Neuroscience is building a new category of wearables. This planned product will actively influence one’s physical abilities through existing neurostimulation techniques. The team provided a demo for the wearable at TechCrunch Disrupt NY. The first wearable, the Halo Sport, is meant to influence a region of the brain that is involved in sports and fitness learning.

The device will be targeted at elite athletes as a training aid to improve performances. The headsets are not required to be worn for every training session, but should be used when athletes are doing a session that involves “a high volume of quality repetitions.” Another interesting use is for medical purposes, such as the rehabilitation of stroke victims’ motor skills. A clinical trial will be used to investigate this use-case.
