International Platform Aims to Bring Filipino Designs to the Global Market

Earlier this month, Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco presented his masterpieces at the Paris Fashion Week.

Cinco’s success is a boon to the Philippine fashion industry, which is further boosted by Fashion Exchange International (FEI) bringing together some of the most popular Filipino designers to the international market. FEI is made up of Filipino fashion advocates who seek to showcase the designs of Filipino designers to the international audience.

FEI began rolling out their first lineup of designers in a runaway held last July 6. Some of the potential buyers are from Asia and Europe. FEI collaborated with some of the notable fashion designers in the country like Francis Libiran, Rajo Laurel, Dennis Lustico and Ivarluski Aseron.

The Filipino fashion designers were very positive about the good impact of the show. Aseron stated that FEI’s initiative is not only beneficial for the designers themselves, but also to the whole Philippine fashion industry.

The designers were advised to conspire with other Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) designers in order for them to promote their creations and enhance advance their growth as an artist.
According to Valerie Lim, social media influencer and member of the FEI collective, buyers abroad are eager to see what the Filipino designers have to offer by checking out their complete portfolio.
