LG to Introduce Mosquito-Repelling TV to Filipino Market

Mosquitoes remain as one of the most dangerous insects that has ever plagued the human race. They carry certain diseases such as Malaria, Zika and Dengue, which in the worst case scenario have led to deaths.. Scientists have created various products to repel mosquitoes, but have you ever heard of a television that can do the same thing?

LG Electronics recently created a television embedded with a technology that can drive away mosquitoes. In a statement released by the company, the technology uses ultrasonic waves that are inaudible to humans but can compel mosquitoes to fly away. The company began developing the technology when the Zika virus hit the southern part of America.

According to LG, the TV will be available in two models and will be sold at a more affordable price in order to accommodate low-income consumers. The mosquito-repelling tv will function even while the appliance is switched off.

On their official website, the company stated that although they are developing the technology, they do not have future plans to replace other mosquito-repellent products available in the market.
