Puregold Price Club, Inc. is planning to open seventy-five convenience stores this year. At least P450 million has been earmarked to accomplish the task. Under its partnership with Japan’s Lawson, Inc., this is just the beginning for Puregold; a greater goal of theirs is to have five hundred stores by the year 2020.
Lawson’s presence in the central business districts is the main focus of this joint venture. The targets are employees from business process outsourcing companies. In 2015, sixteen Lawson stores located near Metro Manila schools were opened. The new venture is said to contribute less than 5% of Puregold’s total revenue.
