Just months after joining the social media platform, Natalie Kerris who served as the Communications VP of Twitter left the company.
Kerris joined Twitter last February. Though it wasn’t directly stated why she decided to left the company, Twitter representatives said that they are grateful for her efforts and enthusiasm in helping the platform grow. Twitter added that Kerris’ service definitely made an a good impact in sharing Twitter’s story to the world and that the company wished her all the best.
The company underwent a number of challenges in getting more advertisers followed by the infamous harassment incident involving the Ghostbusters star Leslie Jones which led to the suspension of commentator Milo Yiannopoulos. Moreover, some of Twitter’s communications staff also left the company.
Twitter struggled in its attempt to get the media to buy its story. The company missed its estimated sales and lost ground against its direct competitors like Facebook and Snapchat.
When Kerris’ predecessor was forced out, Twitter issued a statement that they will continue to show their value to the world and that they are building a stronger communications strategy and direction.
Twitter’s Chief Marketing Officer Leslie Berland will takeover Kerris’ role as the company’s marketing and communications boss.
