Uber is in the process of expanding its presence in the country by offering its services in Rizal province, albeit in select areas. The ride-sharing app began offering its on-demand services to Cainta, besides other areas of Taytay, Antipolo, and San Mateo. According to Uber, the move is in line with its aim to provide safe, convenient, and reliable transportation.
According to Uber: “In an effort to make this expansion economically sustainable for partner-drivers on the system, riders who take trips to (not from) the newly-included areas will see an additional P60 East Surcharge on top of their fares for trips to the East (not from),” The surcharge is intended to support partner-drivers who may incur extra costs by taking trips to the new areas being served in Rizal.
