Blog writing isn’t as easy as most people think. You can’t simply write a blog post and say “Okay, I’m done. It’s great, and people will love it!” without checking everything and writing with care. People that write blogs like that usually end up losing all of their followers. The formula for success as a blog writer is constant improvement and correction. Are you doing one thing wrong? Find a way to correct your mistake and improve upon it. Practice makes perfect! In any case, you shouldn’t give up if something isn’t going right. Try to find out where you’re going wrong and fix it. If you’re ready to start blogging, take a look at these seven powerful ways to improve your blog writing skills!
1. Detach the filler
Writing a very long blog post just for the word count is a very bad idea. If you can explain something in 200 words, then write a post that contains 200 words. Add something else that is relevant. One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started writing articles was that I added too much filler. People notice this, and they simply lose focus and interest in your article. So get rid of the filler and write only relevant information!
2.Achieve the right tone
You can’t appeal to everyone, especially if the tone of your post is all wrong. Try to find the right one that most people will connect with. Keep it friendly yet professional and interesting. In my experience, most people like friendly, warm, and “human” articles instead of the cold, professional, “robotic” ones.
3.Train the habit of regular writing
Exercise yourself to achieve the habit of regular writing. You don’t have to post everything you write, and you don’t have to think too much. Simply choose a topic and write small texts about that topic. Of course, you should be doing this when you have time. This habit will allow you to write whenever something comes to mind, plus, you’ll write things easier.
4.Intellect your grammar and improve your style
Grammar is highly important when it comes to blog posts. A post with bad grammar will turn readers away, and you’ll lose followers. Work on your grammar! If you can’t practice by yourself, there are apps that can help you by showing you where you made a mistake and how to correct it. Also, try to work on your style. Expand your vocabulary and work on using interesting and less known words. They are a great way to make your post look great!
5.Proofread your writing
Before posting an article, you’ll need to proofread it. This is simply a way of checking for mistakes and errors that can occur during writing. It shouldn’t take long so dedicate some time on proofreading and concentrate while you’re doing it. No one likes reading a post riddled with grammatical errors and mistakes so do your best not to let this happen!
6.Evaluate your article
Think about your article. Is it good enough to post? Will the content be interesting to my readers? Is this the style I want to go with for future articles? These are some questions that you should ask yourself. There are a lot of other questions as well, considering you’re the one evaluating your article. Make sure everything is nice and clean before posting the article.
7.Be a keen reader
We recommend reading other blogs for inspiration. Carefully read through some blog posts that aren’t yours and you might just pick up some ideas and new words. Remember – your readers need to be interested in your content. Try to put yourself in their position and see if your article is good enough.
