Full-Time Ninjas Advertised in Tourism Push

Aichi Prefecture is hiring full-time ninjas as a way of promoting tourism in an area known for the historic Nagoya castle. What these new hires can expect is a one-year contract and a monthly salary of ¥180,000 plus a bonus. Part of the job’s requirements are acrobatic performances, the use of shuriken weapons, and posing with tourists for photographs.

Being able to speak Japanese is preferable, but not a requirement. Non-Japanese individuals with a passion for tourism and history are also welcome to apply. Men and women ages 18 and above–and of any nationality–are free to apply. Applications are accepted until March 22. Successful candidates will be subjected to a one-month training course in April.
