Emotient Inc. has recently been acquired by Apple. The startup is famous for their claim that they have found a way to read human emotions through the use of artificial intelligence. The tech works through the careful analyzing of facial expressions and then using said expressions to make interpretations regarding how people feel.
On their website, Emotient describes themselves as the “Leader in emotion detection and sentiment analysis based on facial expressions.” The company believes that they are about to engage in a brand new wave of emotion analysis that may lead to a much greater understanding of customer wants and needs, not to mention emotionally aware computing.
