Facebook Announces New Tools for Instant Articles

After opening Instant Articles back in April, Facebook is offering more customization options to publishers by introducing new tools to their offering. The Instant Articles feature allows any publisher to import their content into Facebook and enable readers to access it easily within the site. Facebook claims that the ease of access that the feature provides makes it more attractive to potential readers as it eliminates long loading times. A recent study commissioned by Adobe found that  78% of respondents would switch or stop altogether if digital content takes too long to load.

The new tools such as the Marketer Logo will enable publishers to identify an article sponsor and Facebook will automatically pull the profile picture of that sponsor from their Facebook page and insert it in the article as a logo, placed below the title and on the left-hand side of the byline. Facebook will also update their Article Style Editor by supporting new coloring, text, and spacing features and by incorporating a real-time preview tool that will show publishers how their article will look like as they edit.

Facebook said that the new tools will be made available “in the coming weeks or by late June 2016”.
