Facebook is teaming up with Spotify for its “very first music integration.” This means that all Android and iOS users now have the choice to use Spotify in Facebook Messenger. This works as an option where users can search for something they want to share on Messenger. When one of their friends tap it, they are sent to Spotify to listen to the selected song.
The Messenger team also came up with a playlist. For those who are curious about what they are listening to, their favorite tunes are now on display for all to see. The intention here is to fuel the app’s growth up to 800 million users. If Messenger becomes a greater platform that connects Spotify users, it may inspire deeper conversations about music.
