From 8888, Globe Telecom is now using 8080 as its promo registration number. Both postpaid and prepaid customers of Globe can may now use the new code to send promo registrations via text or sms.
The change is part of the Telecom company’s compliance with the government’s request to use 8888 as its complaint hotline which became operational last month. Globe users who are still sending 8888 will receive a notification from 8080. The former will no longer be available from November 30 onwards.
Atty. Froilan Castelo, Globe General Counsel said that Globe recognizes the importance of communication for the government to be able to respond quickly to the loopholes in government service that can benefit the entire nation. Castelo added that it is the company’s main reason why they decided to give way to the government’s request and change their promo registration number.
Aside from texting 8080 for promo registrations, Globe customers may also use *143# to generate a USSD code and register to a call, text or surfing promo of their choice.
Furthermore, Globe is also providing access to the government’s emergency hotline and an inbound and outbound access to 2286 which is the Philippine National Police hotline where the public can directly report incidents.
