National Museum Admission Now Permanently Free

In a post published by the National Museum of the Philippines on Facebook, the museum announced that effective July 1, 2016, admission fees for visitors–Filipino or foreign–will no longer be charged.

The National Museum Board of Trustees established the policy of free general admission in order to build upon significant increase in viewership, especially among the younger Filipinos.

Prior to the establishment of the policy, free general admission was only given during February, May, and October, as these months celebrated the National Arts Month, National Heritage Month, and National Museums and Galleries Month, respectively. The fees ranged from at least P50 for the students and up to P150 for the adults.

The museum hopes to better achieve their goals and fulfill the general expectations of serving as a true national museum for the benefit of the Filipino people and of the world.

The National Museum of the Philippines is located at P. Burgos Drive, Rizal Park, Manila and opens from 10AM-5PM from Tuesday to Sunday.
