Snapchat has plans to raise more money at around a $20 billion valuation. One investor close to the company revealed that Snapchat gets offers for funding all the time. Some have theorized that the best way to handle a company of this caliber is with some kind of rolling funding. Although it can be different from other startups, it also reflects Snapchat’s fast growth.
The company has declined to comment on the fundraising. A previous round had closed earlier in the year at a different valuation from the $20 billion being reported currently. Despite Snapchat’s growth, there is some concern about the hefty valuation. The greater the valuation, the less likely others will be able to afford Snapchat.
