SpaceX successfully managed the launch of Japanese communications satellite, JCSAT-14, on their Falcon 9 rocket. The launch took place at May 6, 2016, 1:22am EST. The rocket’s first stage was then soft-landed on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You,” which is the second time this has been done.
The first attempt was on April 8th. For this launch, the odds of success were quite slim due to the requirements needed for the particular situation. Overall, it was the fourth successful flight for SpaceX thus far in 2016. The next step would be reusing a recovered rocket, which Elon Musk hopes to accomplish within the next three to four months.
