Sustainable Alternative Lighting, a start-up that created a lamp powered by saltwater which is cofounded by a filipina scientist Aisa Mijeno and her brother Raphael Mijeno. The idea is so simple which is made up with a few scrap of metal, a glass of water and just two tablespoon of salt or you can simply use saltwater which can run for 8 hours. A brilliant invention which could light up a lot of homes who can’t afford electricity. How does it work? The invention uses the principles of electrochemistry, which makes use of two different elements submerged in saltwater solution to produce ample amount of electricity.
The planet is three-fourth ocean water,Aisa said. What is the best way to solve our energy shortage other than using the abundant natural resource that we have? The science behind this has been existing for a hundred years, I’m not really sure why people deviated from developing this principle.
