The rideshare wars are heating up with Uber recently cementing a strategic partnership with Toyota. The latter has apparent made an undisclosed investment in the former. Their companies announced on Tuesday that they collaborating on new leasing options for drivers.
Hours before the deal was announced, it was revealed that Uber rival Gett had also made a similar pact with Volkswagen with the latter investing 300$ in in the former.
Uber’s chief competitor in the U.S. Lyft however was the first to spark this trend when it closed a $500 deal with General Motors and work together in developing a fleet of self-driving cars.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Uber’s chief rival in China Didi Chuxing also got a $1 billion investment from Apple.
