ABS-CBN Corp and Western Union are forming a tie-up to help promote the group’s The Filipino Channel. The channel itself is targeted at overseas Filipino workers as their primary demographic. Western Union Southeast Asia Senior Vice-President Patricia Z. Riingen released a statement on the company’s primary motivation for the channel.
“Offering access to the rich content that TFC provides to consumers who send money to the Philippines is our way of giving back and helping them to stay connected to their heritage.” The promotion agreement, which lasts for three months, launched last May 15. The aim is to provide consumers with key market access to TFC.tv Lite Package.
