Corporate Branding: More Than Just A Pretty Logo?

One thing to consider when launching a new business or taking over an existing one is branding. The thing is, some entrepreneurs assume that branding is just another term for a beautiful logo. In reality, branding is an encompassing topic that goes beyond a company’s logo. Here’s why:

Your branding has to be clear

Something that many people fail miserably on is making their branding complicated! It all starts with logos that don’t make much sense or tie-in with what a brand is all about. Even the strapline for a logo can deflect people away from a brand’s mission statement.

Consistency

Take a look at the branding for many of the world’s top companies. You could look at brands like Apple, Walmart, and McDonalds. What do they all have in common? The answer is simple: their branding is consistent across the board!

Familiarity is crucial when trying to make a brand memorable. It makes no sense to create variations of brand logos.

Your staff should be your brand ambassadors

Customers will talk to your team – the people that represent your brand. If your employees aren’t acting like your brand ambassadors, where are they going wrong? It’s important to ensure a united front to communicate a brand’s message.

Logos should be simple and sensible

Another thing to take away from the three brands I mentioned earlier is their logos are simple. The general rule is that, the simpler a logo, the more memorable it will be. Here are some logo design tips you should take on board:
