Coffee Crisis is on the Loose

Predicted that there will be a worldwide shortage of coffee beans prompting many cafes in australis and other coffee-loving parts of the world to close. Especially if the prices of the beans continues to shoot up. The prediction will cause the retail price of beans as nations who supplies them will have a hard time meeting the demands of the market. This issue is also relative to the problem of climate change as the coffee farms experience drastic weather changes of drought. The continuing rise of coffee consumption all over the world is threatened when the source of our daily caffeine is being challenged.Giuseppe Lavazza, vice president of global coffee in Melbourne that this shortage is already stirring potential closure of some Melbourne cafes.

In a Bloomberg report, its said that “because of increased consumption in emerging markets, global production must increase by 40 to 50 million bags within the next decade in order to meet demands. The yearly coffee production is 144 million per bags. The talks of possibly outsourcing coffee farms in the regions of Asia and the pacific regions can solve the shortage where crops can be tend at a comforting temperature. Unless of course we address a serious solution to climate change that is causing a strong ripple effect in every aspect of a person’s welfare.
