Bloomberry Resorts Corp. expects to start its construction of a hotel and casino project along Quezon City next year after it obtains the necessary permits from the government, Bloomberry chairman and billionaire Enrique Razon said. The integrated resort and casino project will stand on a 15,676 square meter property which the company acquired from the National Housing Authority (NHA) for P1.98 billion. The project will be developed under a mixed-used concept with its hotel component, which is an integral part before a casino could be set up.
Razon remains hopeful on the project and the overall company’s prospects for the year, describing it as “looking OK”. This is despite its losses of P3.38 billion last year and the anticipated launching of a rival integrated resort and casino project, Kazuo Okada’s Tiger Resort, which is set to open by the end of the year. “Our experience with City of Dreams Manila is we still had higher revenue even after they opened so hopefully, the same thing happens,” Razon said.
