CEBPAC Revenue Grows Higher by 414% Last Year

Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ largest carrier in the country’s air transportation sector, reported a net income of P4.4 billion in 2015. It is a boost of 414% from the previous year powered by thriving passenger and cargo revenues, and less operating costs.

CEB’s total revenue went up by 8.7% to P56.5 billion as a result of constant growth in passenger volume on their leading domestic and international landing place. CEBPAC’s existence in emerging markets, backed with a stable fleet expansion plan, is another factor which contributes to the expansion of its profit.

Atty. JR Mantaring, CEB Vice President for Corporate Affairs stated that CEB’s dynamic market has grown exponentially in two decades. He credited the continued trust and patronage of their valued guests, as well as the support of airline regulators and stakeholders both in the Philippines and abroad for their success. Atty. Mantaring added that CEB’s passengers are now over 125 million since their inception; a testament to their commitment in giving every Filipino a chance to fly with their comprehensive and affordable flight network.

In 2015, Cebu Pacific flew 18.4 million passengers, 8.9% higher from 2014’s 16.9 million passengers. The record moves the passenger revenues to an upward trend with P42.7 billion, an increment of 6.2% year-on-year.

In order to conform to the increasing travel demands, new routes just as the Manila – Doha and Cebu – Tokyo (Narita) routes were offered in 2015, adding the number of flights by 7.6% year-on-year.

By the end of 2015, the airline acquire 55 aircraft, following the procurement of 5 brand-new Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft in a form of 180 and 436 all-economy class seats.
