Popular restaurant Chipotle has finally received the all clear from the CDC after an unfortunate E. coli outbreak that sickened numerous customers across the United States. The CDC made the announcement on Monday that the outbreak is over and the months-long investigation has finally drawn to a close.
The investigation, unfortunately, was unable to identify the outbreak’s cause, although such a plight is not uncommon for the agency. The outbreak led to Chipotle’s announcement that it would shut down all stores on February 8 for a company-wide meeting. With the company poised to report its holiday quarter earnings results on Tuesday, the clearer picture of the damage done will finally be revealed.
