Facebook Claims to Not Have a Gender Pay Gap

According to Lori Goler, Facebook’s head of people, the company does not have a gender pay gap. A 2016 Glassdoor study shows that women make 76 cents for every dollar earned by men. The tech industry has a gender gap of 5.4%. Within the industry, significant gas exist in computer programmers, video game artists, and computer aided designers.

However, none of those gaps exist in Facebook. Goler revealed that their compensation practices are constantly reviewed to ensure pay equity. The company may not have a pay gap, but one thing it does have is a gender hiring gap, and a racial hiring gap, among various others. A recent diversity report states that the company is 55% white, 36% asian, 4% hispanic, and 2% black.
