German company Conergy is pursuing projects in the Philippines with a capacity of 180 MW, starting in this year’s third quarter. This will be after the completion of eight solar farms in Luzon and Visayas. Alexander Lenz, the president of Conergy’s Asia-Pacific unit, declined to disclose the specific number of new projects.
The only thing revealed was the fact that less than five investors is being negotiated on. He also added that three or four investors are being considered. Based on their project completion record, the proposed solar farms are likely to be done by 2017’s first quarter. Some companies behind the projects are those that Conergy has already partnered with in the past.
