Virgin Galactic is planning to reveal its new SpaceShipTwo vehicle on Friday. The rollout and naming event is all set to take place at the Mojave Air and Space port. The event itself is said to signal the start of Virgin Galactic’s second act. After an accident delayed the company’s attempts at flying customers to sub-orbital space, it seems that testing with their new vehicle is ready to commence.
On the outside, SpaceShipTwo is likely to greatly resemble its predecessor, and is meant to be lofted into the air by WhiteKnightTwo, its carrier aircraft. For potential customers, a seat in the plane will cost $250,000 on each flight. The opportunity is available for those who wish to experience weightlessness and see Earth from space. Besides Virgin Galactic, another company, Blue Origins, hopes to do the same with its New Shepard space system.
