Paypal Collaborates with Tech in Asia for #SelfMade Event

For those who haven’t tried living the freelance life, it sounds like a dream. They imagine the perks of being your own boss, having flexible hours and being able to work anywhere. The reality is that it’s a lot more challenging than it sounds.

Challenges include an inconsistent monthly income, not knowing when your next paycheck will be coming. Freelancers also lack support from an organization and not only have to juggle producing work but also finding their own customers. Working long hours alone can also take its toll on relationships and other social interactions that may have helped in fueling creativity.

With these things in mind, Paypal has partnered with Tech in Asia to organize Self Made, an event just for self-employed entrepreneurs. Slated for December 8 at The Refinery, Singapore, the event will have designer Jon Myers as well as tech entrepreneur Jon YongFook as speakers. The freelance community can get inspiration by listening to their personal journeys along with the lessons they learned.

All freelancers are free to join Self MAde but they should sign up before the limited slots are filled up. Tech in Asia has more details about the collaborative event.
