According to a survey that covered 36 developed and emerging economies, the Philippines has one of the highest proportion of women in leadership roles. The results were released for International Women’s Day. At 38.99% participation, not only is the Philippines beating out figures across regions, but this also includes developed economies.
The data for the survey was obtained through interviews with thousands of CEOs, managing directors, chairmen, and several other senior executives. Besides the Philippines, two other countries that share this distinction are Indonesia and Thailand. The participation of women in top posts for Indonesia and Thailand are 36.22% and 37.09%, respectively. Worldwide, the Philippines is only comparable to Russia, with 45%.
