Property Firms Eyed for MCIA Mixed-Use Project

Megawide Construction Corp. and the Bangalore-based GMR Infrastructure Ltd. plan on talking with property developers by June. The purpose of these talks is Mactan-Cebu International Airport’s mixed-use component, which is set to launch sometime in 2018.

According to Megawide Corporate Information Officer Manuel Louie B. Ferrer, a third party may be tapped to help in the development of the real estate component. The original plan was to have hotels, as well as a mall complex. GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. is set to lease out the land, which comprises of 20% of the airport’s land area. Mr. Ferrer has revealed that the airport is set for further expansion in order to accommodate up to 28 million passengers.
