8 PH Universities Among Asia’s top 350 Educational Institutions

Last Tuesday, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a London-based education and career consultancy, released its latest list of top Asian educational institutions.

The institutions were ranked according to the following indicators: employer reputation, academic reputation, faculty/student, international faculty, international students, inbound exchange, outbound exchange, citations per paper, and papers per faculty.

Eight Philippine universities made it on the list. University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City is still the country’s top school. It ranks 70th in the list, retaining the same rank last year.

Ateneo De Manila University, which is also in Quezon, rose up to the 99th rank from 114th last year. De La Salle University in Manila was also included in the list, moving up to the143rd rank from its 181st rank in 2015. University of Santo Tomas also made it on the list, but dropped from 143rd rank last year to 157 this year.

The Ateneo de Davao University made it to the 251-300 bracket. It appeared on the 2014 list, but didn’t make it last year. It remained in the same bracket. Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City and Silliman University in Dumaguete City were in the same 251-300 bracket as well.

The University of San Carlos in Cebu City made it on the 301-350 bracket.

For three consecutive years, the National University of Singapore remained in the first spot with a perfect score of 100 in all the indicators stated.
