Apple Deploying Carekits for Health Apps

Apple has started rolling out Carekit, its mobile software framework for health apps. The open-source software development platform was announced in the previous month, with the goal to make it easier for developers to create health apps on iOS devices.

Carekit works similarly to Researchkit, which is a tool that enables developers to pull in large amounts of research data to iOS devices. Carekit integrates with health apps to aid patients manage treatment. It is also useful for doctors since it can help in monitoring a patient’s progress. Due to the fact that it is relatively new, only four apps are using it at present.
