Designer Fund managed to raise $20 million in funding from anonymous individual investors. The notably backs up startups with designers on their founding teams. It was founded by Enrique Allen and Ben Blumenfeld. Allen used to be a designer 500 Startups whilst Blumenfeld was a design lead at Facebook.
Investors have reasons to be optimistic about the funding efforts. Among those backed by Designer fund are Stripe, a payroll service called Gusto, AltSchool, and Omada Health, an online behavioral health coaching company. All of those companies have raised significant amounts of money and continue to be highly valued as privately held companies.
