TE SubCom Completes Third Network Upgrade to SouthEast Asia Japan Cable System

A TE Connectivity Ltd. company pioneering in undersea communications technology recently revealed details about the completion of its network upgrade in its South-East Asia Japan Cable (SJC) System for the third time.

TE SubCom’s system upgrade will connect Brunei, Mainland China, Hongkong, Singapore, Japan, and the Philippines with its increased system capacity by 6.3 Tb/s with its latest 100 Gb/s coherent transmission technology (C100U+). The third 8,986 km system enhancement will meet the growing demands in businesses and in the communications industry within the Asian-Pacific region.

TE SubCom Project Management and Marketing Communications Managing Director Debbie Brask said that the company is doing its best to prioritize their customers by providing them cutting-edge and reliable systems on time. Brask added that TE SubCom is delighted to continue their connection with SJC members in bringing technological advancement to different areas that need more capacity than what has been available up to this date.

The SJC consortium is composed of Brunei International Gateway Sendirian Berhad (BIG), China Mobile International Ltd. (CMI), China Telecommunications Corporation (China Telecom), China Telecom Global Limited (CTG), Donghwa Telecom Co. Ltd (DHT) (a subsidiary of Chunghwa Telecom, Co., Ltd.), Globe Telecom, Inc., Google, KDDI Corporation, Singapore Telecommunications Limited (Singtel), PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin a subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk), and TOT Public Co., Ltd. (TOT).
