Online Pre-Employment Seminar Mandatory for Aspiring OFW’s

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) added a new requirement for those who wish to work overseas. According to the employment administration, workers who wish to work abroad should take a Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) online.

The new requirement applies to newly hired employees with no initial record of employment in the POEA information database. The workers’ agency must also submit the papers of those workers who have completed the POES online.

According to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz, the mandatory PEOS Online took effect this month. Sec. Baldoz added that the online seminar is important because it would help Filipino applicants prepare for their work abroad. The seminar is one of the government’s efforts in exterminating illegal recruitment agencies and human trafficking.

Applicants can access the online seminar through the POEA’s website using any gadgets with internet connection. The Labor Department provides free facilities for those applicants with no access to the internet.
