The next generation of personal mobility devices has arrived and it is about to get smaller, smarter, and undeniably cuter. At its CES keynote last Tuesday, Intel teased a brand new Segway but did not reveal it officially until the next day, providing the world its first glimpse at the brand new black and white bot.
The new Segway was developed by Ninebot with assists from both Xioami and Intel. Its appearance resembles very little of the original Segway: it’s considerably smaller and features a head and a face, with two LED eyes that allows it to blink and smile. As an additional yet optional feature, one can also choose to add a pair of articulated arms among other accessories.
Although it has been officially unveiled, testing from reporters were not allowed. Shipping of the new Segway can be expected by 2017.
