A year ago, Rohit Pande was studying for India’s civil service exams, which is also known as the UPSC. It is considered to be one of the most difficult aptitude tests in India. The stress of extensive studying began to take its toll on Rohit. But rather than cracking under pressure, the experience gave him an idea which would eventually evolve into Civilsdaily.
Rohit and his team aim to provide news through the proper use of context rather than keywords. The startup offers online information into bullet points through their mobile app, which operates in a flashcard format. Additionally, Civilsdaily presents their information as a list of headlines, covering topics such as economics, environment, history, politics and so much more.
Rohit describes their operations as “news for dummies”, referring to the simplified manner of their presentation.
