Leonardo Dicaprio issued a very simple but strong statement when he said that Climate Change is real and it’s the most urgent threat in the entire species and we shouldn’t take our world for granted. For this very reason investors are turning their attention to the rapid growth of Green Bonds in the market. These bonds fund clean energy projects that boosts and promotes the development of renewable and sustainable energy to lessen carbon emission. Green Bonds are now gaining popularity all across China, France and Canada. In this effort, the World Bank lists all the clean projects so that investors can check and track progress for each.
As every part of the world getting affected by this universal problem of climate change, World bank encourages global cooperation and support to elevate these projects and for more investors to lean their interest towards this type of bond. Green Bonds also known as Climate Bonds addresses solution together with the 2008 launching of the first “Strategic Framework for Development and Climate Change” and still ongoing. Developing countries are said to be the most affected region when climate change reaches its peak as the frequency of disasters and the lack of stability and resources will be difficult to address.
