DMCI, an off-grid electricity supplier, has deployed two satellite diesel-fired plants to Masbate. The satellites have a combined capacity of 175 megawatts, which ensures that enough reliable power will be provided for two towns in the province.
The move came after the Masbate Electric Cooperative and local government units made appeals to address brownouts in both Balud and Cawayan. In a statement, DMCI Power President Nestor D. Dadivas was quoted as saying: “Quality of life in Masbate has significantly improved because of our partnership with the Maselco. There’s more economic activity and higher productivity because people have access to reliable electricity.”
